Class 85 Tubbing rings comprise a number of flanged segments 1, the flanges 3, 2 of the segments being formed by limbs 7, 8 of angle irons, the other limbs 5, 6 of which are butt-welded to tubbing wall plates. The segments may be of plates of rolled steel and are joined together by screws, bolts or wedge connectors. Various forms of angle iron sections are disclosed.
