A building block comprises opposed facings A of syn. thetic resin tiles 1 between which is cast cement con. crete, plaster or metal, the facings being held in spaced relation by synthetic resin or other tubes 6 engaging within tubular projections 3 on the tiles. Adjacent tiles are held together by links 4 provided with sockets to receive the projections 3. The tiles are provided with peripheral flanges 2. Adjacent tiles may be connected together by dovetail joints or by adhesive.
