Abstract

745,609. Electrostatic precipitation. TRION AKT.-GES. Dec. 9, 1953 [Dec. 9, 1952], No. 34304/53. Class 39 (1). An ionizing unit for a twostage electrostatic precipitator comprises two sets of alternating ionizing and complementary electrodes disposed at an angle to one another and one set immediately behind the other. The ionizing electrodes consist of pairs of ionizing wires 5, 8 secured to pins 14 on either side of a framework 13. The ionizing wires 5 co-operate with plate electrodes 6 mounted in a frame 7 and the wires 8 with similar plate electrodes 9. The frame 13 is supported through insulators 12 from brackets 11 on electrodes 6. The frame may have a centre cross-piece with further support pins 14. Baffles are provided at the corners of the unit.
