Abstract

745,434. Clips. ARCON (PROPRIETARY), Ltd. Feb. 12, 1954 [Feb. 13, 1953], No. 4129/53. Class 44. [Also in Group X] A clip or strap for securing roof sheeting and other component parts of buildings in position comprises a main body portion 1, shaped to hook over and engage a purlin (e.g. tubular) or the equivalent and formed at one end with a part 3 for receiving the end of a screw 5 passed through the sheeting &c., the part 3 consisting of a substantially U-shaped bend in the clip material, one limb 4 of the U having a clearance hole 6 for the screw 5 and the limb 4A, parallel to the limb 4, being tapped at 7 to receive the screw 5. In another embodiment, for clipping on to sheeting rails of rectangular or square section, the main portion of the clip is of L-shape with the free end of the stem of the L formed with a short portion extending parallel to the base of the L. In a further embodiment, as applied to an eaves channel sheeting strap, the body portion is L-shaped but the port 3 is disposed angularly with respect to the body portion.
