Abstract

745,033. Window operating apparatus. WILMOT-BREEDEN, Ltd. Nov. 19, 1954 [Dec. 21, 1953], No. 35455/53. Class 20(3). A regulator for a vertically slidable vehicle window comprises a parallel-motion linkage 3, 4 pivoted at one end to an attachment piece 5 and at the other end to a member 6 which carries rollers 7 to support the lower edge of the window, and a balancing spring 12 connected between an extension of the arm 3 and one of a series of notches 13 formed in the attachment piece 5, a friction washer 8 being incorporated at each, or, as shown, at one of the pivotal connection of the arms 3, 4 with the attachment piece 5. As shown a spring washer 10 is placed on the outer face of the attachment piece and is adjustably secured by nuts 11 which engage a screw threaded part of a pivot pin 9. Raising and lowering of the window is effected by direct manipulation of a finger piece (not shown), attached to the window.
