Abstract
744,709. Cleansing tanks. MANN EGERTON & CO., Ltd. Sept. 2, 1954 [Sept. 17, 1953], No. 25759/53. Class 82(2). An apparatus for cleaning oily or dirty articles, particularly motor vehicle parts, employs an agitating rotor consisting of a dished element 15 with scoops 25 facing the direction of rotation, partitions 18 formed of a bent piece of sheet metal, and a closure plate or cover member 21. Apertures pierced in the latter, one to each compartment, allow the liquid to be delivered upwardly to the perforated basket 2 in the cleansing tank 1. In order that stubborn dirt &c. may be removed a brush may be fitted on the rotor shaft 9 and driven by a key 31. A shroud is described to modify the upward flow of the cleansing liquid leaving the rotor to suit the brushing operation.
