Abstract

The invention comprises a stable, injectable, aqueous solution containing a 1-phenyl-2,3-dialkyl - 4 - dialkylamino - 5 - pyrazolone and an alkali metal salt of phenoxyacetic acid o-carboxylic acid amide. It also comprises a process for the preparation of such a solution, in which the 1-phenyl-2,3-dialkyl-4-dialkylamino-5-pyrazolone is dissolved in water in the presence of an alkali metal salt of phenoxy-acetic acid o-carboxylic acid amide. The two solid compounds may be dissolved together or in turn. Addition compounds, more soluble than the original pyrazolones, are apparently formed and may be isolated as a readily soluble solid by evaporating the solutions to dryness. In examples: (1) and (2) 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-dimethylamino-5-pyrazolone is dissolved in a hot aqueous solution of the sodium salt of phenoxyacetic acid o-carboxylic acid amide. The solution is charcoal treated, diluted, filled into ampoules and sterilized; (3) a solution similarly prepared to examples (1) and (2) is evaporated to dryness in vacuo and the product dried at 80 DEG C.ALSO:A stable injectable, aqueous solution contains a 1-phenyl - 2, 3 - dialkyl - 4 - dialkylamino -5-pyrazolone and an alkali metal salt of phenoxyacetic acid o-carboxylic acid amide. The two solid compounds may be dissolved together or one after the other. Addition compounds, more soluble than the original pyrazolones, are apparently formed and may be isolated as a readily-soluble solid by evaporating the solutions to dryness. In examples (1) and (2) 1-phenyl 2, 3-dimethyl-4-dimethyl-amino-5-pyrazolone is dissolved in a hot aqueous solution of the sodium salt of phenoxy-acetic acid o-carboxylic acid amide. The solution is charcoal treated, diluted, filled into ampoules and sterilised; (3) a solution prepared similarly is evaporated to dryness in vacuo and the product heated at 80 DEG C.
