Abstract
743,869. Heating air; feedwater heating systems; steam reheaters. PARSONS & MARINE ENGINEERING TURBINE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION. April 27, 1954 [May 27, 1953], No. 14788/53. Classes 64(1), 64(3) and 123(3). Liquid heated in a primary heat-exchanger b in a boiler flue a traverses heat-exchangers d, g for heating feedwater and combustion air, and one or more steam reheaters q, r. The liquid, which is circulated by a pump k, is reheated in tubes p in the boiler combustion space before traversing the steam reheaters q, r. The liquid leaving the air heater g returns to the flue heatexchanger b either directly or, as shown, through a heat exchanger s heated by exhaust steam from the last stage j of the steam turbine with which the reheaters q, r are associated.
