Abstract
743,378. Display stands. THOMPSON & NORRIS MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. (Paige R. E.). Sept. 23, 1954 [Sept. 28, 1953], No. 26634/53. Class 3(2) An oblong substantially rectangular blank of foldable sheet material is scored transversely to form a plurality of like panels and is scored longitudinally to define within each panel main - intermediate - and - marginal - segments 3, 6, 9, Figs. 1 and 5; the blank having cut outs at the ends of the intermediate segments 6 and each intermediate segment having an intermediate score line extending from end to end to define relatively foldable parts-the arrangement being such that the blank may be built into a hollow tubular structure and the relatively foldable parts collapsed transversely of the axis of the structure to form a stand in which the main segments 3 form the base of the stand. The marginal segments 9 form the walls of a tray-like part and the folded parts of the intermediate segments define an internal ledge for supporting a bottom member 23 for the tray like part. The blank may be cut and scored to define an hexagonal stand (see Fig. 6, not shown). Alternatively the blank may be cut and scored as shown in Fig. 7 in order to make a stand as shown in Fig. 8. The blanks are made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or fibreboard. The assembled structure is held together by wire stitches 22.
