Abstract

[Class 18.] A carton of the kind described in the parent Specification is formed from a single rectangular blank, Fig. 1, scored on the broken lines and cut on the full lines, and when erected forming a rectangular carton, Fig. 2, comprising a rectangular body portion having a series of compartments formed by turning in flaps or panels on two opposite ends of the body. The tongues 5, 9, 6, 10 pass through the slots 3, 7, 4, 8 and engage a loose partition 13 arranged horizontally in the carton, so that six compartments are formed at each end of the carton. In a modification, the blank is formed with the flaps and panels of two different lengths to be turned in, while two vertical partitions are employed. The carton has twelve compartments passing from the top to the bottom of the carton. In this form, the turned-in tongues engage slitted portions of the partitions, the tongues at the opposite ends meeting in the middle of the carton.
