Abstract
Titaniferous iron ore concentrates containing organic flotation agents are rendered amenable to digestion in concentrated sulphuric acid by treatment to remove remaining flotation agents with an aqueous solution of an inorganic metaphosphate at a pH of 1,0 to 3,5 and removal of the treated concentrate from the solution. The metaphosphate may be sodium or potassium metaphosphate or sodium hexametaphosphate.
