Abstract
Ferrous hydroxide in aqueous suspension is oxidized to ferric hydroxide by means of an oxidizing agent, e.g. oxygen or air, whilst passing an alternating current of 1-20 volts between electrodes in said suspension. The process may be applied to waste liquor from pickling plants or in removal of iron from drinking water.
