Abstract
The invention comprises a process for the production of tetrachlorofurane by treating hexachlorodihydrofurane with a metal in aqueous emulsion, especially zinc, magnesium or iron with or without an emulsifier. In examples the hexachlorodihydrofurane is treated with zinc dust, or iron powder in presence of dibutylnaphthalene sulphonic acid as emulsifier.
