Abstract

741,030. Treating liquids with gases. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. Nov. 3, 1954 [Nov. 3, 1953], No. 30293/53. Class 55 (2). Random packed elements for gas and liquid contact columns &c. comprise a star-shaped lamina with an even number of points and one or more central apertures 8, the points 1 ... 6 being bent alternately in opposite directions through about 120 degrees to meet at apices on opposite sides of a polygonal part 7. In the form shown the element is constructed from a sixpointed metal lamina,.- the distance between the apices being about the maximum diameter of the hexagonal portion, i.e. of the order of ¢ inch.
