Abstract

740,532. Inductances. MULLARD RADIO VALVE CO,., Ltd. May 6, 1952 [May 22, 1951J. No. 12000/51. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XL (c)] A line scan linearity control for a television receiver comprises an inductance coil 1 through which is passed the line scan deflecting current, the coil having a core 9 of ferromagnetic cubic ferrite material, a permanent magnet 3 being non-adjustably arranged adjacent the coil in such a position that the required shape of voltage waveform across the coil can be obtained by moving the core 9 into or out of the coil I. The clips 4 and 5 are of magnetic material and form polepieces for the magnet 3 so that when the core 9 is in the coil it is saturated thereby, thus only one side of the B-H curve is used, the resulting voltage across the coil can be used to correct for the voltage drop across the effective circuit resistance.
