In a dynamo-batteiy system for a vehicle including between the dynamo b and battery d the main contacts f, g of a cut-out e having the usual voltage and current windings a, c, respectively, chattering of the cut-out consequent upon rise of dynamo voltage after opening of the main contacts is avoided by preventing this voltage rise by auxiliary contacts h, i which open simultaneously with, or slightly befores the main contacts and insert a resistor j in series with the field winding k of the dynamo. The field circuit also includes the usual regulator m. The resistor j may be mounted on the iron core of the cut-out and may be inductively wound to the oppose the windings a, c.
