Abstract

740,231. Ejectors. MURRAY DEODORISERS, Ltd. April 26, 1954 [May 1, 1953], No. 12062/54. Class 71. In an ejector condenser wherein the cone assemblies or passageways are readily removable for cleaning and having one or more passageways passing through two or more independent vapour zones and sealed, at the zonal partitions, the passageways pass through cylindrical apertures in the zonal partitions and sealing pressure is exerted radially between the passageways and the cylindrical apertures so that some longitudinal movement of the passageways is possible without breaking the seal. A passageway comprising tubes 15, 17, joined by a bayonet coupling 16, passes through a partition 2, separating two independent vapour zones 3, 4 the partition having a cylindrical extension 33. A groove in the coupling 16 accommodates a rubber ring 32 which is compressed between the cylinder 33 and the coupling 16. A similar seal is provided between a fitting 20 attached to the tube 15 by a bayonet coupling and the closure disc 7. The tube 17 is bayonet coupled to a fitting 22 which has a shoulder 40 engaged by a closure disc 34. The discs 7, 34 are secured to the housing 1 by removable half-clamps 12. The specification describes several modified passageways. The cones 25 in the passageways shown comprise truncated sheet metal cones each having three wings 27 which engage the upper edge of the next cone below. Specification 664,212 is referred to.
