Abstract

A water-soluble herbicidal composition comprises one or more aliphatic or cycloaliphatic amines and one or more herbicidal chloroaryl-oxyalkyl carboxylic acids, e.g. chlorophenoxyacetic acids, the acids being present in appreciable excess, preferably not less than 5 per cent, of the quantity equivalent to the amines. Preferably at least one of the chlorophenoxyacetic acids is 2 : 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, 4 - chlorophenoxyacetic acid, 2 - methyl - 4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid, 2 : 4 : 5 - trichlorophenoxyacetic acid or 2 : 4 - dichloro - 5-methylphenoxyacetic acid. Preferably at least one of the amines is mono-, di- or tri-methylamine, mono-, di-, or tri-ethylamine, mono-, di-or tri-ethanolamine, ethylenediamine, or cyclohexylamine.
