Abstract

738,785. Automatic-feed weighers. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T. April 26, 1954 [April 24, 1953], No. 11299/53. Addition to 703,553. Class 143. [Also in Groups XXX and XXXV] An automatic feed weigher of the kind disclosed in the parent Specification is modified so as to compensate for variations in the effective length of the carpet of material on the weighing conveyer due to changes in its thickness. The weighing conveyer d is fed through a shoot a by a conveyer b. The shoot is pivoted at a<SP>1</SP> and provided with a tongue a<SP>2</SP> which controls the position of the end of the material on the conveyer d. The shoot is linked via a<SP>3</SP>, e and f, to the feed hopper gate k so that as the gate is adjusted there is a compensatory movement of the tongue a<SP>2</SP>.
