Abstract

736,231. Switch gear structures. REYROLLE & CO., Ltd., A. Dec. 14, 1953 [Dec. 24, 1952], No. 32768/52. Class 38 (5). A bus - bar assembly for interconnecting switchgear units comprises a porcelain or moulded synthetic resin casing with earthed metal covering 12, shown as being in three sections 10 joined by collars 15, bus-bar sections 16 being supported in insulators 17 by insulating partitions 14 between the casing sections, and by insulators 19 secured in closure plates 20. The sections 16 are interconnected by members 18 constituting isolator or selector contacts, and accessible through outlets 11 provided in each casing section for connection from members 18 to the corresponding unit. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) the members 18 are bolted to mounting blocks moulded into the casing. When three phases are required a unitary casing houses the busbars of all three phases.
