Abstract

735,624. Cots. HARTELL, N. Nov. 23, 1953, No. 32488/53. Class 52 (2). A cot provided with a pair of carrying handles, one at each side is constructed so that one at least of the handles is adjustable to compensate for differing heights of the two persons carrying the cot. As shown, a cot comprising rigid ends 1, 2, a rigid base and flexible sides 3, 4 is provided with a strap handle at each side. Reinforcing straps 5, 6 towards each end of the cot are sewn to the flexible sides at one side, to the base and to the opposite side. Carrying straps 10, 14 are fixed at one end and adjustably engage a buckle 12, 13 at the other end, the fixed end of the separate handles being arranged at opposite ends of the cot so that the free end of one of the handles can engage the buckle of the other handle to produce one or a pair of transverse handles which may be used to suspend the cot on a longitudinal rod. Other kinds of adjustable handles may be employed.
