Abstract

The invention comprises 14-a -hydroxytestosterone, 14 - a - hydroxy - 10 - normethyltestosterone, and the preparation thereof by bringing testosterone or 10-normethyltestosterone into contact with oxygenating substances produced by a growing fungus of the genus Mucor, e.g. Mucor griseo cyanus, under aerobic conditions. Either the culture medium on which the fungus has grown or the viable fungus itself may be utilized.
