Abstract

732,924. Swivelling pipe joints. DOWTY EQUIPMENT, Ltd. Oct. 19, 1953 [Oct. 23, 1952], No. 26644/52. Class 99 (1). [Also in Group XXXIII] A pipe swivel joint disposed between two pairs of pipes each pair being fast to relatively movable portions of an aircraft undercarriage (see Group XXXIII) is shown in Fig. 6, where the members 28, 29 are relatively movable, member 29 being universally mounted between the forks 33 of a yoke formed on member 28. A cylindrical member 32 extends between the forks, and is fastened by a bolt 83 screwing into a cylindrical member 82 co-axial with the member 32. A collar 80 surrounds member 82, and has ports connected to pipes 76, 77 adapted to co-operate with grooves 86, 89 formed in member 82, and communicating through internal bores with pipes 42, 43 fast with member 28, allowing the pipes to swivel with the members 28, 29.
