732,022. Electrically heated clothes horses. WILSON & BATKIN PTY., Ltd. Aug. 6, 1953 [Nov. 20, 1952], No. 21747/53. Class 39 (3). [Also in Group XIV] A clothes horse comprises two main frames each formed of horizontal rails 1 carried by side members 2 pivoted together at 3 so that the rails on one frame can be spread from the rails on the other frame, and two electrically heated plates or casings 7 extend over the full width of the clothes horse. Each heater is carried by the lower portion of one of two subsidiary frames 4, which are pivotally suspended at 6 from the main frames and extend down and are pivoted together at 5, so that when the spread of the main frames 2 is altered, the spread of the lower parts of the subsidiary frames 4 and the distance between the heaters is altered in the same direction. The heaters 7 comprise metal plates with a casing 9 enclosing resistance wires on a refractory and are connected in parallel. As the main frames are spread further apart, the plates 7 become more horizontal to increase the area from which the hot air rises. The main frames rest on a horizontal surface and are interconnected at 6 by pivoted stay links 7A. The temperature may be varied by cutting out part of the resistance.
