Abstract

729,863. Platform lift attachments for tractors. SMITH, J. J. June 26, 1953 Aug. 26, 1952], No. 17784/53. Class 78 (3). A platform 14 is mounted on a parallelogram linkage 7, 15 at the rear of a tractor and is raised and lowered by an arm 8 connected to a hydraulically actuated lever 5. A pair of links 7 are pivoted to the differential casing 3 at 6 whilst a single telescopic link 15 is pivoted at 18 to a detachable bracket member 19 secured to the top of this casing. A lever 17 carrying a pin 16 is pivoted to part 15b of the upper link at 60 and is spring urged to engage this pin in a corresponding hole in link part 15a so rendering the links in parallelism; but on raising pin 16 the link is free to extend so allowing the platform to tilt into position B. A second hole is provided in part 15a to engage the pin when the platform has attained a predetermined tilt. Accidental actuation of lever 17 is prevented by a locking pin 30. In various modifications (not shown) the platform 14 serves as or supports the floor of container, or it is fitted with creels.
