Abstract

729,018. Magazine gramophones. COLLARO, Ltd. Feb. 9, 1954 [Aug. 31, 1953], No. 24061/53. Class 40 (2). In a magazine gramophone having means for initiating the stop mechanism when the last record has been fed to the turn-table, an arm or lever may alternatively engage either the periphery or upper surface of records supported above the turntable. The embodiment described shows an arm 18 which is mounted on a rod 13 and rests on the upper surface of records of the stack with normal size centre holes, the aperture 19 encircling the centre post of the gramophone. When the last record falls to the turntable the rod 13 moves axially downward to trip the mechanism. The arm 18 is provided with a turned up lug 21 at the end, and an inclined downwardly-projecting cam-surface 31 to engage an inclined supporting surface 27 whereby records with a large centre hole may be accommodated. When the last record falls to the turntable, the arm 18 swings inwardly under the influence of gravity and the inclined surfaces 27, 31, whereupon the rod 13 moves downwardly as the surface 31 slips from the surface 27, to trip the mechanism, as with normal records.
