728,985. Boxes. JARRETT, RAINSFORD & LAUGHTON, Ltd. Feb. 17, 1954 [Feb. 18, 1953], No. 4513/53. Class 18. [Also in Group XXV] A box such as a compact having an inner lid released by the hinging back of an outer lid, as described in Specification 607,648 has the inner lid catch shaped to draw down the inner lid to form a tight closure. In one embodiment, the catch 22 is formed on a flat strip 20 having a projection 21 for engagement by the outer lid with consequent flexing of the strip inwardly and movement outwardly of the catch. The catch has sloping surfaces 25, 26 causing it to spring back as the inner lid 15 is pressed shut and then engage over the inner lid's edge to press it down. In a circular box (not shown) the catch 37 is carried by a similar flat strip of arcuate form and engages an aperture in hasp 34 on the inner lid 33.
