Abstract

728,812. Preventing furnace corrosion; composition fuel. AKT.-GES. FœR TECHNISCHE STUDIEN. March 21, 1951 [March 28, 1950], No. 6760/51. Classes 50 and 51 (1). A process for reducing furnace corrosion, at temperatures above 630‹ C. by combustion products, is characterized by the introduction into the combustion zone of an "auxiliary substance" which prevents attack of the protective scale formed on metal parts. The substance may include an oxide; silicon or a silicon compound; a carbide; aluminium or an aluminium compound; iron or other metallic powder; zirconium oxide; ferro-silicon powder; borium, iron or magnesium carbonate; aluminium acetate; a carbonate or organic compound of a metal.
