[Also in Group XXVI] A method of reducing harmful effects of combustion products in a gas turbine plant comprises adding different additional substances at at least two different points in the gas path through the plant. Substances which may be added at a hotter point in the plant are magnesium oxide and zirconium silicate while aluminium silicate, for example kaolin or mortmorillonite, may be added at a cooler point. In place of magnesium oxide, a compound which produces magnesium oxide under the conditions experienced, or magnesium metal, could be used.
