Abstract
754,275. Gas turbine plant. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. May 19, 1954 [June 18, 1953], No. 14713/54. Class 110(3) [Also in Group XII] In a gas turbine plant. metal surfaces exposed to the combustion products are covered by a protective layer of metallic aluminium and means are provided for effecting or for facilitating renewal of the protective layer in the assembled plant. Detachable covers may be provided whereby the protective layer may be renewed by means of a metal spraying pistol. Alternatively the layer may be renewed without stopping the plant by means of metal spraying pistols installed permanently at suitable points in the plant which can either be set in operation at intervals or kept in operation continuously. Aluminium powder may be mixed with the fuel; alternatively aluminium powder may be introduced into the combustion chamber through an atomizer which atomizes the aluminium either in the flame or just after the flame.
