Abstract

A method of reducing harmful effects of combustion products in a gas turbine plant comprises adding to the fuel an additional substance containing kaolin and aluminium. From 10-100 parts by weight of kaolin to 1 part of aluminium powder may be used. The harmful effects of the fuel are corrosion and the formation of deposits, and are due to the presence of vanadium, and/or alkali metal or alkaline earth metal sulphates in the fuel. Specifications 740,062 and 750,555 [both in Group XII] are referred to.
