Abstract

A gas-turbine engine fuel composition comprises a major proportion of a vanadiumcontaining residual fuel and a mica in powdered form. The fuel may contain 0.1 to 1% by weight of the mica, which may be muscovite, phlogofite, paragonite, lefidolite, zinnwalidite, biotite or lefidomelane. The mica may be injected continuously or intermittently into the fuel or into the combustion chamber during operation of the engine. Examples are given. Specification 779,248 is referred to.
