727,772. Valve fittings for sewers. GSENGER, A., and GSENGER, R. June 3, 1953 [June 5, 1952], No. 15296/53. Class 33. An automatic back-surge prevention valve for pipe sewers comprises a valve casing 4 with a branch 4b through which the sewage is led from the inlet pipe 3 into pipe connected to the main sewer and by the back-surge pipe 2 to a second branch 4a of the casing, and a ball valve 6 which in its normal position shown in full lines allows flow through the branch 4b but during a back-surge closes the sewage inlet 5. The casing may be made in two parts secured by bolts 8, and the ball may be a hollow r bber one.
