Class 12 (1) [Also in Group XXXVI] Journal surfaces of aluminium or aluminium alloy are hardened by anodizing and are impregnated with a solid lubricant such as poly-tetrafluoro-ethylene or molybdenum disulphide in suspension in alcohol or water. The journals are employed in conjunction with bearings of tin or lead base white metals, copper-lead or copperlead-tin, or bearings incorporating solid lubricants such as poly-tetra-fluoro-ethylene.
