727,183. Speedometers; indicating-apparatus. SOC. PER AZIONI FRATELLI BORLETTI. Dec. 12, 1952 [Dec. 18, 1951], No. 31614/52. Classes 106 (3) and 106 (4). A speedometer is characterized in that the supporting frame of the mechanism is formed by a single piece obtained by pressure or injection casting and comprises a circular base-plate 1, Fig. 1, from one face of which project three peripheral projections 4 supporting a circular dial 5, and from the other face of which projects an axial boss 2 supporting the driving shaft 3 of the mechanism, the said mechanism being protected by a cylindrical cover 9, Fig. 3, which is a tight fit on a peripheral border 9<1>, Fig. 1, of the base and which is provided with a transparent cover 10, Fig. 3. The cover 9 comprises a metallic ring to which a transparent cap 10 is fixed by bending, under heat, the edge 10<1>, Fig. 4, of the cap over the border of the ring. A housing 6, Fig. 1, projecting from the plate 1 carries a light bulb which illuminates the dial 5 and the pointer 7.
