Abstract

726,261. Coils for dynamo-electric machines. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. May 7, 1953 [May 7, 1952], No. 12782/53. Class 35. Each turn of a turbo-alternator rotor is made of three active conductors 1, 2, 3 of which only 1, 2 extend beyond the rotor slots to form end winding 7 and these conductors 1, 2 are partially radially offset outwardly as they extend within the rotor end cap 4. The conductor 3 can either be made so as to taper towards the slot ends, or wedges 6 of insulating material are inserted in the rotor slots. The shortened conductor 3 is soldered to the longer conductors 1, 2 within the rotor slots. Specification 367,935 is referred to.
