Abstract

726,053. Binding-posts. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Jan. 6, 1953, No. 398/53. Class 38(1). A binding-post comprises an internally screwthreaded stationary member 1, Fig. 1, having a longitudinal recess 3 intersecting the screw-threads in which the end of a conductor is inserted and clamped by a screw 2. The recess is preferably deeper at the outer end of member 1 so that the conductor is progressively clamped by the screw. In another embodiment, Fig. 2, member 1 with the recess 3 is externally screw-threaded and the co-operating member is a blind nut 2. In either embodiment recesses 3 may be provided at diametrically opposite points on member 1 so that the conductor end may extend in a U-shaped path.
