Abstract
725,573. Photographic developers and emulsioris. KODAK, Ltd. Feb. 12, 1953 [Feb. 12, 1952], No. 3986/53. Class 98 (2). 1.3 Diamino-2-propanol tetracetic acid is added to photographic developers or incorporated into a photographic emulsion, to prevent the deposition of calcium and magnesium salts in the developing bath. The quantity of diamino propanol tetracetic acid added to the developer may vary from 0 to 10 per cent by weight of the total solids in the composition. In the examples 1: 3 diamino-2- propanol tetracetic acid is added to the common developers and replenishers. The resistance of such solutions to oxidation, particularly in the presence of iron, is compared with that of the same developers to which ethylene-diamine tetracetic acid, trimethylamine-tricarboxylic acid or methylamino-diacetic acid has been added. U.S.A. Specification 2,407,645 is referred to.
