724,883. Jaw-crushers. PICALARGA, M. Sept. 21, 1953, No. 26002/53. Class 59. A stone breaker comprises a housing 2, 3, 5, a movable breaking jaw 12 and a fixed jaw 11 which can be moved to adjust the grinding gap 31, the lower part of the jaw 12 being supported by an eccentric on a shaft 21 and the upper part by links 25. A spring 32 urges the jaw 12 towards the other jaw to relieve the stress on the eccentric and may be fully expanded when the jaws are closed. A further spring 13 pulls the jaw 11 towards wedge-like stops 14 which engage a pivoted carrier 10 for the jaw and are adjusted by nuts 17<SP>1</SP> on a screw 17. The latter members break upon excessive pressure between the jaws. Ball-bearings 28, 30 are provided for the link and a roller-bearing 22 for a carrier 18 for the jaw 12 which, like the other jaw, has grinding ribs or teeth. A flywheel 24 is carried by each end of the shaft 21 and one of the flywheels is.rotated by a belt-pulley.
