Abstract

722,548. Lawn-mowers. AKTIEBOLAGET E. FLERON. May 14, 1952, No. 12242/52. Class 6 (2). A motor-driven lawn-mower having a rotary cutter 44, a ledger blade 41, and a deflector plate 53 mounted in a rigid frame detachable from the main frame, has the cutter and deflector plate adjustable relatively to the ledger plate. The frame comprises end members 31 cross connected by a frame member 32 carrying the ledger blade 41 and by the deflector plate 53. The frame members 31 are fastened to the chassis side plates 1 by bolts 34, 35, the side plates being slotted to permit downward passage of the cutter shaft 42 and bolts 35. The bearings 36 of the shaft 42 are attached to the frame members 31 by bolts 38, 39 which permit of adjustment of the blades relatively to the ledger plate. The deflector plate is attached to parts 56 on the members 31 so as to be adjustable relatively to the cutter 44. The drive from the motor (not shown) is through a sprocket on the countershaft 11 which, through a clutch and sprocket gearing, drives the traction roller. The sprocket 20, loose on the shaft 11 and driven by a free-wheel mechanism, drives the sprocket 45 on the cutter spindle 42 through a chain 46 passing over an adjustable chain-tightening sprocket 47. Lubrication may be effected by apparatus described in Specification 695,538, [Group XXXIV].
