722,157. Detecting leaks in pipes; linear dimension gauges. ELLIS, L. S. E. (Rheinische Rohrenwerke Akt.-Ges.). Sept. 9, 1952, No. 22626/52. Class 106 (2). Pressure and internal diameter tests on a tube 1 are carried out simultaneously by placing a plug gauge 12 representing the minimum permissible diameter in one end of the tube and then subjecting the tube to a normal pressure test by admitting liquid under pressure to that end of the tube containing the plug and allowing the air to escape from the other end of the tube. If after the pressure test the plug is found to have moved to the other end of the tube, the diameter of the tube is satisfactory.
