Abstract

797,187. Locating leakages in tubes &c. FELTEN & GUILLEAUME CARLSWERK AKT.-GES. Dec. 18, 1956 [March 2, 1956], No. 38530/56. Class 99(2). In a method of determining the location of a leak in a tube containing gas under pressure or a high tension electric cable which contains in a pressure-resisting tube at least one cable subjected to gas under pressure, wherein a halogencontaining tracer gas is introduced into the tube and the escape of the gas is observed by a halogen leak tracer, the tracer gas used is trifluoro-monochloromethane. The tracer gas can be introduced into the cable during the production or laying thereof.
