Abstract

In the tracing of leaks in pipes laid underground using a radioactive tracer in the pipe which leaves through the leak into pipe surroundings, gaseous 41 Ar as the tracer is introduced into the pipe with a carrier gas, pref. air, under pressure, the pipe is then flushed through with an inert medium, during which a measuring probe is advanced in known manner through the pipe.
