Abstract
721,494. Electric incandescent lamps. FISCHER, G. July 22, 1952 [July 27, 1951; Dec. 27, 1951]. No. 18499/52. Class 39 (2). An electric lamp of high illuminating intensity and intended primarily for short periods of use in making photographic exposures, has a filament of a rating that is so high, and a bulb of normal glass of such small volume, that the continuous energization of the filament results in the glass becoming softened in less than a quarter of an hour. One or more auxiliary filaments may be provided for use during the arrangement of the subject. In an example a 2000 watt lamp has a spherical bulb of 80 mm. diameter. The filament may be in the form of a plurality of parallel helices 2 connected between a pair of upper and lower electrodes 4 mounted transversely to the axis of the lamp. The cap is provided with three contacts when part of the filament is employed in known manner as an auxiliary filament for the purpose of avoiding dazzle.
