721,020. Devices for dispensing batter &c. SAWA FABRIKS AKTIEBOLAG. July 6, 1953. No. 18734/53. Class 87 (2). A dispensing device for plastic materials such as batter comprising a cylinder 1 having a die 5 with apertures 4 at its forward end secured by cap 3 held by a locking device 2, the batter is extruded through the die 5 in fixed amounts determined by the number of teeth, 13 or 23 of different pitch, which are engaged to feed piston 7. Piston rod 6 runs through a bearing 8. at the rear end of the piston on which is pivoted a lever 10 having a spring controlled pawl 12 engaging the teeth 13 or 23 so that on downward movement of the lever the piston is moved one or more steps depending on the engagement of stop device 25. with notches 24a or 24b on lever 10 and on the tooth row used. Retrograde movement of the rod 6 is prevented by spring 14 which may be made to engage teeth of different pitch by rotation of rod 6. Varying shapes of die apertures 5 or of caps 3 may be used to shape extruded material. In a modification the locking device comprises a spring wire 33 held by projections 31 on underside of bearing 8.
