923,318. Counters for cinematographic cameras. C. HAUSER, and K. VOCKENHUBER. July 13, 1959 [July 22, 1958], No. 23934/59. Class 97 (1). A cinematographic camera comprises a counter which is driven by a ratchet 3 engaging a ratchet-wheel 5 movable in dependence on the film feed, said ratchet-wheel having a space in its toothing which the ratchet engages after a fixed length of film has run down, the width of the space being greater than one feed step so that the ratchet cannot stop on the counter, and a second ratchet, for example spring 16, engaging a ratchet-wheel being in driving connection with the first and carrying one or more teeth arranged over a small zone of its circumference which are engaged by the second ratchet when the first ratchet engages said toothing space, the said second ratchet driving said second wheel only after the run down of the said fixed length of film and after means, for example the camera top, which are moved to thread the film have been moved into the threading position and back again, said second ratchet thereby stepping on the counter to its starting position in which the first ratchet reengages the toothing of the first wheel. In the embodiment shown, the second ratchet-wheel is a surface of the first and has a tooth 15 which is engaged by spring 16 mounted on a rod 18 which is controlled by a movable camera top 17.
