Abstract

720,804. Apparatus for dispensing mustard &c. KREBS, C. March 11, 1953. [March 19, 1952] No. 6744/53. Class 102 (2). In a mustard &c. dispenser having a container 10, Fig. 1, slidably mounting a piston 13 having a rubber packing ring 15 and a hollow rod 12 through which the mustard is ejected, a bow spring 25, Fig. 5, loads both an actuating lever 20 pivoted at 23 to the cover 11 and a pawl 21 pivoted at 24 to the lever and engageable with ratchet teeth 16 formed on the rod 12 which, on depression of the lever 20, inch the piston downwards. In a modification, Fig. 2, the piston, packing ring and rod are made as a single unit from, e.g., polyethylene, a thin flange 13<SP>11</SP> on the piston part 13<SP>1</SP> having sufficient elasticity to function us a packing ring.
