Abstract

914,213. Dispensing liquids. STERLING DRUG Inc. Jan. 20, 1961 [Oct. 27, 1960], No. 2449/61. Class 116. Apparatus for dispensing a liquid, e.g. a skin-cleaning liquid for surgical use, comprises a compressible bottle 28 containing the liquid and held inverted in a bracket 30 affixed to a wall 10. The liquid is dispensed by depressing a pedal 78 which first removes the bottle cap 36 by actuating a push-rod 74 to raise a block 70 connected to a pivoted lever 66, 60 having fingers 54, 58 engaging a flange 56 on the cap 36, and subsequently causes a rubber bumper 72 carried by the block 70 to engage and squeeze the bottle 28 to dispense liquid therefrom. When the foot is removed from the pedal 78 a spring 80 restores the apparatus to its initial condition.
