A gramophone variable-speed gear comprises a flexible disc 4 secured for rotation with the turntable 2, guiding members (e.g. rollers) 12, 13 contacting the disc and being connected to a speed regulation control means so that the disc can be deformed in such a way that a driving path 6 on its periphery is adjusted to different levels in relation to a driving shaft 8, carrying different diameter driving wheels 9, 10, 11 (or a coneshaped driving wheel, not shown), the driving shaft being perpendicular to the plane of the turntable. The driving shaft 8 is driven by a motor 7 displaceable horizontal to engage the driving wheel(s). The flexible disc 4 consists of radial strips of phosphor bronze or steel riveted to a rigid ring 5, or is formed as a whole disc of metal or fibre cardboard, carrying the driving path 6 formed by a rubber ring.
