720,523. Carding-engines. T. M. M. (RESEARCH), Ltd. Sept. 11, 1953 [Sept. 11, 1952], No. 22820/52. Class 120 (1). Supporting means for the undercasing of a carding- engine comprises at each side of the machine a bracket 12 mounted to be vertically adjustable upon the framing 10 by means of a setscrew 14 and carrying a fulcrum pin 16 on which pivots, in a vertical longitudinal plane, a rail 17 connected to the undercasing sections by means of pegs or dowels 18 screwed into the rail so as to enter holes and slots in the undercasing grid 11 : at each end of the rail is a lug 173 carrying a screw 19 bearing against a fixed part of the machine framing and by means of which the rail and hence the grid 11 may be adjusted radially with respect to the main carding cylinder or other element with which it is associated.
